Joint entrance test for UG business courses
|The Faculty of Applied Social Sciences and Humanities, Delhi University, South Campus, has announced important changes to its admission procedure for the new academic session. It shall be conducting a joint entrance test for its undergraduate degree courses that include Bachelor of Business Studies, Bachelor of Financial and Investment Analysis and BA Business Economics. |
Talking about the rationale behind introducing a common entrance test, SK Vij, dean, student’s welfare, Delhi University, says, “A common entrance test has been introduced to reduce the pressure on students in terms of the application process, because now they do not have to apply to individual colleges separately.”
Also, for the first time, registration and application are online. “An online mode of application has distinct advantages. Firstly, students do not have to travel to each college in order to procure forms and make admission enquiries. The admission website is functional from April 5, and has been comprehensively designed with a dedicated section on frequently asked questions (FAQs) pertaining to the admission procedure. Secondly, we decided to go online as a reiteration of our commitment towards the reduction of carbon footprint,” he adds. The admit cards will be issued online and fees can be paid online.
The other important change is that mathematics has been made a compulsory subject for all three courses. The entrance exam will be conducted on June 6 in Delhi, Kolkata, Chandigarh and Lucknow and will be divided into four sections that include quantitative ability, reasoning and analytical ability, general English and business and general awareness. “The entrance test shall be structured in the format of multiple choice answers with negative marking for wrong answers,” informs Vij.
The application forms will be available online at www.south.du.ac.in/fassh from April 5 to May 4.
