Saint Louis University was founded in the year 1818. Saint Louis University offers more than 85 undergraduate majors and more than 50 graduate programs. It accommodates more than 7,800 undergraduates and 4,900 graduate students (including medical and law students) from all 50 states and nearly 80 foreign countries.

Whether you are pursuing a degree or interested in improving your English through ESL, Saint Louis University's International Center will work with you to ease the transition between your home country and your new university home. For the 2007-08 academic year, 97 percent of first-time freshmen received financial aid.


With its beautiful landscapes and lovingly cared-for historic buildings, Saint Louis University is located in midtown St. Louis, the city's performing arts district. Saint Louis University sits within walking distance of some of the city's most significant cultural venues.

Ranking & Honours

  • The 2009 edition of U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges" ranks Saint Louis University 80th out of the more than 260 national universities in the United States. The ranking placed Saint Louis University among the top five Jesuit universities in the country for the sixth consecutive year.

  • U.S. Fortune Small Business named the University's undergraduate entrepreneurship program one of the top-25 in the nation in its "America's Best Colleges for Entrepreneurs 2007" listings. Saint Louis University was the only school in Missouri and the only Jesuit university on the top-25 list.
